SHADOWS OF A GENERATION

Shadows of a Generation was developed in response to the children affected by the war in Ukraine. Cast in translucent resin, the fragile dress preserves the form of childhood while suggesting its absence, functioning simultaneously as a memorial and an imprint of loss. Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, millions of children have been displaced, while thousands have been injured or killed. Beyond the immediate destruction, the war has left a generation carrying the lasting consequences of trauma, separation, and interrupted childhood. The work reflects on this condition through the physical vulnerability of the material itself, allowing the sculpture to become both a record of absence and a reminder of lives irreversibly altered.
